Parkinson’s Therapy
We offer a variety of proven outpatient therapeutic programs for patients experiencing Parkinson’s including:
LSVT LOUD (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment) helps people with Parkinson’s improve vocal loudness, articulation, speech intelligibility, intonation, facial expression, and changes in neural functioning related to voice and speech. Patients are given daily exercises to practice the skills they learn.
LSVT BIG focuses on patients ability to accomplish daily skills such as buttoning a shirt, standing up from a chair, brushing teeth, self feeding, tying shoes, dressing, getting in and out of bed, walking, and maintaining balance. Encouraging patients with Parkinson’s to use big movements everyday helps improve symptoms.
The National Institutes of Health supports funding of LSVT in their more than 25-years of Parkinson’s research.
